How can I help you?
The first step is to arrange an initial assessment to summarise some of the issues you wish to discuss in therapy and to get to know one another in a client-counsellor relationship. Sometimes clients do not feel their counsellor meets their needs and that is fine. Hopefully, person-centred therapy is right for you.
Online Counselling
Online counselling sessions are an alternative to face-to-face counselling however, you may wonder if it is as effective. These sessions have huge potential because you can access counselling from the comfort of your own home or anywhere in the world. After an initial assessment on Zoom, we will set up a convenient slot for our sessions. I normally offer 6-8 weeks as a starting point, however, this can be extended of course, it all depends on the needs of the client. Like face to face counselling Zoom call sessions enable us to see each other on screen and to discuss your reasons for therapy.
One-to-one counselling
Indoor Therapy:
I offer face-to-face counselling from the relaxing therapy rooms of The Consulting Rooms in Norwich. I also have a beautiful counselling space close to Bury St Edmunds and at The Self Centre.
During our indoor session I will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.
I also integrate elements of other psychological approaches to meet people’s needs, as I believe a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach is not for everyone.
One-to-one counselling
Walking Therapy:
I offer walking therapy in a natural outdoor environment. The benefits of outdoor therapy are huge and help you to connect with nature. Research and recent news articles recently state that walking and talking reduces stress, anxiety and depression.
The great thing about walking therapy is that you can choose the environment where we walk and talk. We can spend time in a variety of different areas such as, the beach, the park or a nature reserve.

FAQ's
If your question is not answered below then please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
A person-centred counsellor will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence. Person-centred counselling is one of the humanistic modalities or approaches. It was founded in the 1940s by the American psychologist Carl Rogers who believed that, given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self, which he termed ‘self-actualisation’.
You can book a free initial appointment of 15 minutes through calendarly on the front page of my website or can send me a message via email or ring me.
1 session lasts for 50 minutes.
Every counsellor is different and there are many different modes of therapy. In person-centred therapy, we explore your issues together. As your counsellor I am committed to ensuring you feel safe and comfortable. Counselling is more effective when you feel relaxed and can speak freely without fear of rejection or being judged. My aim is to create the right conditions so that you can be yourself, your authentic self. I am here to help you to discover yourself and to raise your self-awareness.
Online therapy is similar in many ways to face-to-face counselling. Video and telephone do not give us the same sense of someone’s ‘presence’ compared to being physically in the room with them. It is understandable that you may think online counselling is not as effective, but studies consistently show that online therapy has been extensively researched as being equally as effective as face-to-face sessions. Therefore, online therapy can be effective. You can talk about your issues at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home. Online counselling requires a safe, quiet space for the entire session, where you will not be overheard or disturbed by other people or pets.
It costs £60 for online, telephone, face-to-face therapy or walking therapy.
* I offer concessionary rates for students.
By bank transfer in advance. Please allow 24 hours for online sessions and 48 hours for face-to-face to secure a place.

It is up to you. I am happy to do what works for you.
